How it all began

The original ‘Orangienboom’ was born in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Back in 1671 when two Dutch entrepreneurs started a brewery in the famous port city. Our name means ‘orange tree’ and was chosen as a tribute to the Dutch royal family – or ‘House of Orange’.

The ship came in

By 1871 the brand was thriving and new, modern, ‘Bavarian-style’ brewery was built making it possible to upscale production and open to the world at large. By 1986, Oranjeboom was one of the largest breweries in the Netherlands, selling over 20,000,000 litres a year and the first brand to export Dutch beer all over the world.

Steady course

Today we are proud of our roots, craftsmanship and global presence in almost 100 countries. And to celebrate our rich history of shipping beer around the world we commisioned a speical design for our packing featuring a tall ship voyaging to every corner of the globe. So let’s toast to this milestone year together. Cheers.
